OUR PURPOSE

Westside Church exists that Omaha and the world may know Christ, develop a deepening relationship with Him, and express His love through service. Our goal is to move our church from simply worshipping God on a weekend service to serving God in everyday lifestyle. Simply stated, our strategy is to encourage progression in the Christian journey.

OUR HISTORY

Dr. Calvin Miller was called as the founding pastor of Westside Church in July of 1966. The church was constituted in 1968 with 109 charter members. For 25 years Dr. Miller led the congregation with a strong emphasis on personal evangelism and church growth, including a move to a new church property/facility.

In April, 1992, Westside Church called Dr.Tony Lambert as senior pastor. During ten years at Westside, Dr. Lambert continued to lead the church to new horizons of ministry with a strong emphasis on personal evangelism. The membership grew, a multipurpose/educational facility was added, the original building debt retired, and a land purchase secured.

Westside called Dr. Curt Dodd to be their third senior pastor in January of 2004. The focus on evangelism, discipleship and ministry continues through “The Journey”—community Bible study fellowships and member-equipping ministries.

The history of Westside Church is about relationships: relationships that have connected people to God and to each other in Christ-like compassion. As a Westside Church member, your relationships become HIS story for HIS kingdom and your growth in Christ.
