Pursuit - Westside's Middle School Ministry (6th-8th Grade)
Maranatha Summer Camp 2011
Pursuit 6th and 7th graders journeyed to Maranatha Summer Camp in Maxwell, NE. Joining 400 other middle school students and 150 youth pastors and leaders coming from all over the Midwest, states including Wyoming, Kansas, Colorado and of course, Nebraska!
The Youth enjoyed various summer activities like water trampolines, slides, canoes, fishing, the bucking barrel, campfires, smores, paintball and a campers’ favorite, The Sweet Shop. When the campers’ were not at the lake swimming or chowing down at the Sweet Shop they were learning about Christ and the camp theme “Remix”.
2 Corinthian 5:17 says those who are in Christ are a new creation, they are “Remixed”. Students explored what it is to “Remix” their lives in morning and evening sessions. Here, they worshiped with the band VOTA, watched Mr. Wizard and his crazy experiments, and heard various youth pastors speak. In the evenings David Seizys dared them to allow God to “Remix” their life and walk with Christ.
Maranatha was a huge success. Our youth came back with stories of fun, new, deeper friendships and most importantly, a challenge to Remix their walk with God.
Sunday Mornings, in the Big Room from 9:30am - 10:40am
A great place to connect with the whole group. You can expect great teaching, fun and games all year long!
Sunday Evening, in the Big Room from 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Sunday nights will help you grow spiritually and make new friends! You can expect high energy games and worship music followed by small group time with an adult leader and 5-7 students. Small groups run during the school year and take the summers off.
