Welcome to Kid City Zoo
Kid City Zoo is located on the 2nd floor of the West wing. Though the Zoo is open during all three hours on Sunday morning, once your child turns 4 years old they will only be allowed to come to the Zoo for one service hour. We encourage all families to attend service together!
Each week the children will enjoy various activities that relate to the Bible Story. They will start the morning out spending quality time with their leaders in a classroom setting. Our leader’s main focus is to get to know your child and help them to understand the Bible lesson in age-appropriate ways using activities, crafts, books, puzzles and games. After the activity time the kids will gather together with other classes for our Big Group Time. They will participate in fun music that will let them get their wiggles out while praising God. The Bible will be brought to life as the children learn about God’s Word through age-appropriate dramas, puppets and creative storytelling. The children then return to their classrooms for snack and prayer time. They will do a transition activity until pick up time.
Zoo Guide
Delivery & Pick up of Children Your child will be assigned to a classroom at the Kid City Zoo desk; you can then head directly to that room each Sunday. Sign your child in and attach a name tag while waiting for the leader to come to the door. For security you will be given a numbered tag to match the tag we attach to your child. In order to pick up your child, you must be able to produce that tag. If you lose your tag, let us know immediately so we can assign your child a new number. We also ask that only adults deliver and pick up the children. Kids can be dropped off 15 minutes before the class starts. Children 3 and under can stay in Kid City Zoo during two service hours and children 4 and older for one.
Sick Kids
If your child has run a fever, vomited, has a runny nose that is not clear, a contagious rash or diarrhea within the last 24 hours do not bring them to church! Although we still love sick kids, we cannot let them come to Kid City Zoo—Sorry.
Behavioral Problems
Although we prefer to use positive reinforcement with the children, occasionally a child will have a short time-out from our activities. If a detrimental behavior persists, the director will be notified and the parents will be contacted. If your child has a “free spirit”, any information you could give us that will enable us to love them better would be greatly appreciated!
